Reflection

With the subject of "Reflection," I interpreted this piece upon my own perspective of myself and how it relates to my reflection in the mirror. As of recently, having to undergo the process of applying for scholarships and also having to write reflective essays about myself, I was in the mind frame of how to translate what I see in the mirror and how I view myself onto a piece of paper for someone to read. Therefore, this train of thought led to the idea of literally drawing myself onto a piece of paper and having it symbolize the inner struggle I am currently experiencing. In addition to this main symbolism of the piece, I have other reflections and repetitions of myself in the piece almost as to convey other perspectives or "distant thoughts" of myself. They aren't as noticeable but nonetheless are still there and can symbolize darker bits of my past that are more reluctant to be placed upon paper.
